Forecasters - System Could Become Tropical Storm, Depression

A weather system off of South Florida could become a tropical depression or tropical storm over the next few days.

The National Hurricane Center says the system will move northward near Florida's east coast through Saturday.

It is not expected to become a hurricane.

In any case, forecasters say the system is likely to produce locally heavy rainfall and possible flooding over the Florida peninsula and the Florida Keys.
