'LHHNY' Star Mendeecees Release Date From Federal Prison Revealed

Mendeecees will soon be a free man!

According to Bossip, the former Love & Hip Hop: New York star "is set to be released from federal prison next year after being sentenced to at least eight years for drug trafficking."

Mendeecees, who starred on LHHNY alongside his wife Yandy Smith, will reportedly be released November 2020. As fans know, the 40-year-old music manager was found guilty for his role in a drug trafficking ring and sentenced to eight to ten years behind bars back in 2015. While he appealed the decision, the Appellate Court ultimately upheld his original sentence. He was, however, given credit for time served given that he had already served 15 months before being granted bail in the case.

Mendeecees' sentence was part of a plea deal that required him to admit he helped to ferry hard drugs — heroin and cocaine — from New York City to the Rochester, New York area from 2006 to 2008.

Back in November 2018, Yandy spoke to The Breakfast Club about Mendeecees' release and said she expected that her husband would be released in 2019. "He'll be home next year," she said. "Collectively [he’s been away] almost five years…It’s a drop in the bucket to a lifetime you have to spend together."
