Small Plane Crash in Central Florida Injures One

MULBERRY -- A pilot instructor is in the hospital after a small plane crashed in Polk County Monday morning.

The Polk sheriff's office says it went down in some woods off Thompson Road in Mulberry just before noon.

The plane took off from Zephyrhills, and the student pilot, 24 year old Luke Fraiser of Wisconsin, says 78 year old John Ducey of Brooksville was doing the flying. Ducey is hospitalized. Fraiser walked away from the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
