Rick Scott introduces anti-drunk driving Ride Act

Mothers Against Drunk Driving supports new legislation proposed by Senator Rick Scott that would require car makers to install devices that would ensure your sobriety.

"Our bill, the Ride Act, promotes the research and development of advanced alcohol detection software," Sen. Scott says, "and creates a path forward to require the technology in new vehicles."

The technology would stop drunk drivers from starting the engine.

Sen. Scott already has bipartisan support for the bill in the Senate and there's a companion bill in the House.

"This is not a partisan issue," Scott says. "This is an issue that impacts Republicans, Democrats, families all across our country."

There are estimates that the program could save 7,000 lives each year.
