President Trump's 'coronavirus czar'- Vice President Mike Pence- met Friday with Governor Ron DeSantis in West Palm Beach to discuss the federal government's response to the outbreak.
"Governor, I want to thank you," Vice President Pence said to Governor DeSantis. "Florida is a destination not just for Americans but for people around the world and your efforts at preparedness here are to be commended."
The vice president assured the governor that as they work with Congress on a supplemental bill to fund the coronavirus response, state's like Florida will have all the resources they need to prevent the spread of the virus.
"President Donald Trump has no higher priority than the health and safety of the American people," Pence said.
There have been no confirmed cases of caronavirus in Florida so far.
