College Board Weighs In On At Home SATs

The College Board says the at-home SAT is a non-starter due to the technology requirements.

The company, which administers the exams, acknowledged the potential for an in-home version some day, but the home version won't be happening this year at all because not all students have the requisite internet access needed.

The test requires three hours of uninterrupted internet access and has also raised issues of monitoring since one of the hallmarks of the SAT is its rigid security.

The Board is now trying make more in-person testing sites available this fall and it hopes colleges will be more flexible.
