Parkland Public Safety Commission Holds 1st Virtual Meeting This Year

The Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission meeting virtually today for the 1st time since the 3rd anniversary of the Parkland massacre. Commissioners are getting an update on the 3rd grand jury report, the new public safety radio tower to be built in Broward to improve emergency communications and the implementation of Alyssa's law named in honor of Parkland victim Alyssa Alhadeff. Office of Safe Schools Director Tim Hay says once implemented, every teacher and school staffer can quietly and quickly tap their cellphone or computer to call police. It can be used for medical emergencies and fights as well.
