The Health Care District of Palm Beach County will open a new "streamlined system" to make it easier to self-schedule your own COVID-19 vaccination appointments online.
The new website to schedule appointments will open Saturday at 10 a.m.
With the state going to a 40 and over age limit on Monday, and 18 plus the following Monday, April 5th, the website will allow you to schedule right away, as long as the appointment is for a time when you will be eligible. In other words, someone who is 18 to 39 can go online Saturday and schedule an appointment for April 5th or later.
Health Care District CEO Darcy Davis, during a Friday afternoon news conference at the South Florida Fairgrounds vaccination site, said that if you are not eligible for a vaccine at the time of your appointment, don't show up because you will be turned away.
She said there is no longer a virtual waiting room.
The vaccination sites will be the South Florida Fairgrounds, the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach, and the Burns Road Community Center in Palm Beach Gardens.
People with questions about the process can call 561-804-4115 for more information.
The system is separate from the online registration system run by the State of Florida.
