The tiger's name is Nadia and she's a Malayan tiger at the Bronx zoo who tested positive for COVID-19. Wondering where she got it? One of her asymptomatic caregivers! Oh and not just Nadia, turns out she is not the only one. There are six other tigers also experiencing a dry cough.
The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo said in a statement, "Though they have experienced some decrease in appetite, the cats at the Bronx Zoo are otherwise doing well under veterinary care and are bright, alert, and interactive with their keepers." I'm glad the tigers are likely to be okay, but now I'm worried about what more animals could be subjected to the virus through humans.
