. A 6-year-old Fort Myers girl reunited with her friend, a Publix employee, for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago.
According to Patch.com, The worker, Gilnet Sainvil, connected with Fiona Smith and her family when she was just a baby. Even when she couldn't speak, he taught her how to give a high-five. That's how he became known to her as "High Five." And get this, her mother says if they went to a different Publix she would tell her mother that it wasn't "her" store with "her people" in it! LOL! Too cute!
Now, the kindness he's shown Fiona over the years has inspired her mother to start a new nonprofit, Who's Your High Five? Through the organization, Rachel Smith plans to collect stories from people about those who made an impact in their or their children's lives.
