Sales of condoms plunged 40% during the pandemic
Condoms? What am I, a sailor? No, it turns out that the pandemic has been bad for a lot of businesses and the condom industry is NO exception! Sales plunged by 40%, leaving many to wonder why. The biggest factor is that condoms are mostly distributed and bought by governments around the world, who stopped buying and distributing during the pandemic. Clearly all locked up and having "nothing else to do" but have sex didn't actually purvey as much as we may have thought. Hotel stays were also down as the sex industry was shut down, which is another factor in slumping sales. Some condom manufacturers have lost a full year's worth of profits as a result. Yikes.
