The most common phobias by state
If you ever wanted a state-by-state breakdown of what people are most afraid of, today is your lucky day!! There are a lot of things Americans are afraid of, so what are some of the most common? Let's start with our state. Now, while Florida's biggest fear SHOULD be Florida Man, it turns out we are most afraid of long words, or "Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia". How ironic, that the fear of long words is the longest word I've ever seen. People from Arizona suffer from Ephebiphobia, or the fear of teenagers. That means there must be a lot of parents of teenagers in Arizona. People in Georgia and Hawaii suffer from Philophobia, which is the fear of love. They must be a LOT of fun to date!
