Oh shoot! Look what’s coming back!
The symbol of femininity in the late 90s to the early 2000s, the lower-back tattoo, colloquially known as the "tramp stamp" is back! It was an era of low-rise jeans and baby tees and the tramp stamp fit right in with the sparklier, slightly more raucous time. Sadly, it was also a time of rampant misogyny and women were hyper-sexualized. Even at the height of these tattoo's popularity they were ridiculed, as were the women rocking them by default alone. The trend was officially over when Barbie famously got a tramp stamp in 2009. Time heals all wounds they say and the so-called tramp stamp is back. I think it's time for some rebranding though...maybe call it the "lower-back tattoo", or go back to when it first started in the 80s, when a designer called the placement of that tattoo to be in "the chick spot". Literally ANYTHING is better than "tramp stamp" and you can see more here
