The Internet debates supermarket divider etiquette
If there's anything The Internet loves it's a good debate and this one has it on fire! The question of grocery divider etiquette comes into play here...when you're in line at the grocery store, do you put the plastic grocery divider behind your groceries so the person behind you can start putting their things down, or do you let them grab it themselves when there is room on the conveyor belt to put their groceries on? Personally, I find it ill-mannered to make someone do it themselves. I put the divider up when someone gets into line behind me as a way of saying "go ahead, put your stuff down". It's an unspoken signal to the person behind you and I feel that is the right thing to do. Some use no divider AT ALL, rather tye leave a little space between their stuff and the person's in front of them and I find that to be INSANE.
