With the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial being so big, a lot of talk has been bandied about regarding another installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film franchise. Depp claims that Amber's defamation robbed him of an opportunity to do another sequel in the series. When asked about the possibility of another film in an interview, producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that they are, in fact, developing a script with a character played by...Academy Award-nominated actress Margot Robbie as the CENTER of the movie. So, no Johnny Depp? No Captain Jack Sparrow? Jerry DID go on to say that they are developing TWO scripts, one with her and one without. One could only assume that the one "without" may in fact star Johnny Depp, with producers waiting to see the outcome of the trial to make sure no big, damaging "bombs" are dropped in court that could further disparage the actor. It would be great to see Johnny Depp back in action, but on the other hand, Margot Robbie has proven to be a great actress and can certainly handle the action as demonstrated in the "Suicide Squad" movies.
