Florida Man arrested for trying to steal an R2-D2 Statue from Disney
Leave it to Florida Man to try to do something stupid and to do so in EPIC fashion. This story has it all...idiot Florida Man, a statue of R2-D2, attempted theft, disguises...everything! He impersonated a hotel guest AND disguised himself as a cast member to try to pull off this caper, but sadly, he was caught before he could get away with the droid. David Proudfoot, 44, is facing several charges now. He caught the attention of security and when asked what he was doing and where he was going, he didn't really seem to know what was going on or where to go. He said he was confused because he works at a different area of a Disney resort, even giving a name of his "boss", which turned out to be a guy who does work for Disney, but in Burbank, CA, NOT Orlando. Further checking up and questioning ultimately made David's story fall apart. Even worse, as he was trying to leave with the R2-D2 statue, he told guards "these are not the droids you're looking for", kind of like Obi Wan did in "Star Wars"...ok, I made that part up, but you can see the rest here
