Netflix is considering getting rid of its binge-model for weekly releases

Word is Netflix is considering doing away with its' binge-model and possibly going to weekly releases instead. There are pros and cons to each for sure. For me, when I binge a show, I get like this weird "binge fog". I watch a few episodes and am really into it, but then my attention starts to wander. When I start getting on my phone while I'm watching, I know my interest is gone and I'm not even really watching the show anymore, so what's the point? Can you honestly say you SAW a show when a lot of the time you weren't even WATCHING?? I've gone back and re-watched episodes of shows and saw details that I NEVER saw the first time. Plus, the weekly release builds anticipation for what's coming next. That was the one thing missing when people really started cutting the cord and went with streaming content, the waiting for your favorite show to come on. There was a strong mental component to the episodic model and in my opinion made you appreciate the show even more. I think it could be a hybrid situation...release new shows with a new episode every week, then leave it all there for those that want to binge. A few shows I've seen went this way and it worked out great. Which are you more into? Binge-watching, or do you like the anticipation?
